A Crown Restores a Damaged Tooth
Over time teeth can become worn down, or a trauma may result in a broken tooth. In these cases, a simple filling may not be sufficient to restore your tooth to full functionality. When this happens, a crown may be the perfect solution for refurbishing your tooth. A crown will save and even add strength to the damaged tooth. Dr. Rykard uses the best-quality materials available. When he’s done, it will appear so natural, you won’t be able to distinguish it from a real tooth. Check out our CEREC™ page for information on crowns made while you wait!

Natural-Looking Crowns Made While You Wait
You know how it works. You see the dentist and require a crown. The dentist prepares the tooth, makes an impression, and fits a temporary crown. Then you wait two weeks to go back to the dentist, and he places the permanent crown. And if the fit isn’t exactly right, then it is returned to the lab and you’re delayed again. And go back to the dentist – AGAIN.
In our office, those days are gone forever. Dr. Rykard can diminish that two-week delay and the two or three office appointments to one visit with new CEREC™ technology! This computer-aided design and milling device lets us make a permanent crown in mere minutes. Now, you don’t have to wait for the lab or make return trips. Our patients love it!
To produce the restoration, we use a unique camera designed to take an exceptionally detailed image of the tooth, and display it on a computer screen. We don’t need to take goopy impressions or create temporaries. Then, CEREC takes the model design and automatically builds the restoration. Finally, we attach the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth – all in about an hour. The CEREC system enables us to satisfy patients desiring a long-lasting, visually appealing alternative to silver or plastic fillings.
You’ll love the time saved!
